History

Lakewood Elementary School is dedicated in honor of Poley Parker for his 32 years of dedicated leadership and commitment to the youth of Tomball Independent School District as Superintendent of Schools, Vocational Director and Vocational Teacher. (Dedication, October 1983)

Lakewood Elementary School is located in northwest Houston at the southern end of the Tomball Independent School District. The current population of over 770 students in grades pre-kindergarten through fourth grade is supported with a staff of 80 members.

Our school opened in 1983 with Mr. Jim Boyle, as principal. Mr. Bob Fontenot was principal from 1984-1990. Mr. Darrell McReynolds was principal from 1990-95. Mrs. Valerie Petrzelka was principal from 1995-2008. Mrs. Holly Jones was principal from 2008-2012.  Mr. Royce (Daron) Aston was principal from 2012-2015. Mrs. Deanna Porter became the principal in 2015.
