"Change your corner, change the world"
Welcome to my third grade class! I can't wait to meet all of my World Changers, and start our journey at Lakewood together.
I started my teaching career in Klein, but as a longtime Tomball resident and TISD parent I knew that Tomball was the best place for me. "Go Wildcats!" I have a passion for reading and writing, but most of all, I have a passion for kids. I am excited about sharing that passion with my students and creating a learning community with them.
When I'm not in school I enjoy reading, playing outdoors with my family, and attending my children's activities.

World Changer Updates

We have had an awesome few weeks! I wanted to give you all an update on what all we have been doing.
We have had the opportunity to have three different guest speakers in our class! My parents are currently living in Frankfurt, Germany and we were able to video conference with them about the culture in Germany and how it is different than our culture here in the U.S.. The students loved introducing themselves on camera, practicing their speaking skills, and asking questions.
We were also fortunate to have a student from Tomball Memorial, who is a ballet dancer, come to speak to us about ballet following our Nutcracker field trip. It was wonderful for the kids to gain a better understanding of ballet and the hard work it takes to put on a big production like the Nutcracker.
Finally, Mr. Randy McCoy (a local community member and employee at HPE), came to speak to the kids about coding. He gave them some information on the history of coding, what it can do, and what coding will mean for the kids in the future as they look to decide what type of job they are interested in. This speaker went perfectly with Hour of Code.
We loved the opportunity to have additional resources enhance our students learning, challenge their thinking, and engage them!
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday!
Mrs. Galland
