Calling all 3rd and 4th Graders:
Your child can only join one club during this school year. If your student is already in DI, UIL, or Choir this year, you may still try to sign up for one of the coding clubs. If you sign him/her up for a chance to be a part of more than one club, please make sure to rank the clubs in the order of his/her favorite. Please have this discussion with your student so they have a chance to be in their favorite club this school year.
3rd & 4th graders:
This club is limited 3rd and 4th graders only. This program is designed to encourage students to read a variety of authors and genres. Students will have an opportunity to participate in contests based on the books listed below.
Students will make teams of 5-6 during our first meeting.
Each member will need to read as many books on the list as possible (31 books) & take notes.
Teams will answer questions about the books on the list and play in elimination rounds until we are down to 2 teams.
The winning team from LES will go on to compete at our District competition!
We will only have a few meeting dates (maybe one a month). The competition will be held at the end of the school year.
This club is limited to 40 members. Members will be randomly drawn (if we have more than 40 sign up) after the sign-up cut-off date of November 6th. Students that have been drawn will be notified by email.
Meeting time: 8:00-8:30
First Meeting: Monday, November 13th (informational)
All other meetings will be announced throughout the year.
