Lakewood's New Cafeteria Manager

A few weeks ago, the leadership in our food service department changed. We want to make sure that our Lakewood family meets and welcomes our new cafeteria manager, Baljnder Kaur...

Before coming into the nutrition industry I worked as a Hotel Assistant Manager. I joined the TISD family in Dec-2009 as a child nutrition assistant. In 2010 I was promoted and worked as a child nutrition specialist for 3 years. In 2013, I was promoted to Assistant Manager for TMHS and recently, in September, I had the great opportunity to join the Lakewood family as Cafeteria  Manager. I am looking forward to working with everyone at Lakewood Elementary.

New Librarian to Lakewood

Lakewood has a new librarian this year and we wanted to make sure that everyone knew her. We are proud to introduce you to Laurie Taylor.

I’m Ms. Taylor and I grew up in the Lakewood area. I hold a BA in International Studies with a minor in Business and Spanish from Southwest Texas State University (aka Texas State). I received my Masters in Library Science from Sam Houston State University. I earned my EC-6 Texas teaching certificate in 2001. Before I was a librarian, I taught first grade, third grade, and art for a total of 12 years of experience in public schools.  I also took a couple of years off to stay home with my children. I’m an artist and a book and movie enthusiast.  I am very excited to be a part of Lakewood Elementary school and I cannot wait to share my love of reading and technology with your students this year.

Attention: Volunteers

In order to volunteer at Lakewood Elementary School in your child's classroom, as a Watchdog, or in any capacity you must have a background check run every year. Tomball ISD has created a "volunteer" position on their job board where you will need to log in to "apply". The district will send reports back to our school as people are approved to volunteer.   You may access this information here: https://tomball.tedk12.com/hire/viewjob.aspx?jobid=851
